The Nashville Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is an advocate for Nashville dietitians and the dietetic profession. We are an affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and of the Tennessee Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Our mission is to serve the public through the promotion of optimal nutrition, health and well-being! Registered Dietitians and dietetic students are welcome to join. President-Elect: Abbie Stasior open
The President-Elect is elected by NAND members to a three year term (as President-Elect, President, and Past President). He or she is responsible for scheduling member meetings, obtaining speakers and sponsors for meetings, and organizing CEUs.
President: Misa Rogers open
The President continues an elected three year term (as President-Elect, President, and Past President). He or she is responsible for scheduling board meetings, ensuring deadlines are met, aiding in budget development, sending emails from member requests, and selecting members for appointed positions.
Past President: Kelsey Higgins open
The President-Elect finishes an elected three year term (as President-Elect, President, and Past President). He or she develops an annual program of work for the Marketing Pillar, copies all appropriate in-coming and out-going correspondence (to President, President-Elect, and/or Secretary), and prepares reports for TAND BOD meetings and submits to the President.
Secretary: Amanda Erickson open
The Secretary is elected by NAND members to a one year term. He or she records all minutes of the board and membership meetings, maintains NAND’s historical records, maintains the district’s bylaws, and sends quarterly email newsletters to members.
Treasurer: Sarah Ferguson open
The Treasurer is elected by NAND members to a two year term. He or she files income taxes, reports the total assets and total current liabilities as well as revenue from membership dues and fundraisers, prepares the annual budget for board approval, and handles reimbursements.
Nominating Member: Amy Banaszek open
The Nominating Committee Member serves a one year term. He or she is the nominee with the second most votes in the election of the Nominating Committee Chair-Elect. She serves under the Nominating Committee Chair to help with the NAND board election.
Nominating Chair-Elect: Reeta Bandyopadhyay open
The Nominating Committee Chair-Elect is elected by NAND members to a two year term (as Nominating Committee Chair-Elect then Nominating Committee Chair). He or she serves under the Nominating Committee Chair to help with the NAND board election.
Nominating Chair: Morgan Blake open
The Nominating Committee Chair finishes an elected two year term (that started as Nominating Committee Chair-Elect). He or she acquires nominations for the annual election of NAND board members, verifies their eligibility, runs the election, and reports the results.
CPI Chair-Elect: Nathan Hamman open
The Council on Professional Issues Chair-Elect is elected by NAND members to a two year term (as CPI Chair-Elect then CPI Chair). He or she serves under the CPI Chair and completes assigned tasks such as coordinating updates on JCAHO, Medicare, TennCare, etc. and coordinating requests from the public for speakers.
CPI Chair: Kathryn McWaters open
The Council on Professional Issues Chair finishes an elected two year term (that started as CPI Chair-Elect). He or she guides NAND in professional practice issues, identifies needs and develops strategies for marketing and public relations, assists the President-Elect in developing resources for NAND members (such as sponsors, meeting locations, meeting topics and speakers), and mentors the CPI Chair-Elect.
Member Initiative: Grace White open
The Membership Initiative is appointed by the President to a two year term (as Membership Initiative then Membership Chair). He or she serves under the Membership Chair to help with NAND membership management and recruitment.
Membership Chair: Annie Swigart open
The Membership Chair finishes an appointed two year term (that started as Membership Initiative). He or she accounts for attendance at member meetings, processes membership applications (which includes accepting payment and updating membership records) and encourages local dietitians to join NAND.
Website Coordinator: Catherine Lynn open
The Website Coordinator is appointed by the President to a one year term. He or she maintains and updates the NAND website (with job postings, CEU opportunities, etc.), assists members with using the mailing program, sets up surveys for member opinions and election data, and assists with social media posting.
Fundraising Chair: Emily Hogan open
The Fundraising Chair is appointed by the President to a one year term. He or she plans, executes, and coordinates any and all fundraising activities for the Association in accordance with IRS regulations.
Public Relations Chair: Lori Volpe open
The Public Relations Chair is appointed by the President for a one year term. He or she coordinates NAND’s social media presence on Facebook and Twitter, assists the fundraising chair in fundraising activities, directs the National Nutrition Month activities of the Association, and helps to develop a marketing plan for the Association.
District Policy Coordinator: Joshua Ho open
The District Policy Coordinator is appointed by the President to a one year term. He or she attends and coordinates NAND involvement in TAND Hill Day/PPW, assists in developing state legislative and public policy positions, and advises the Board on state and district legislative and public policy issues.
Awards Chair: Emily Svennevik open
The Awards Chair is appointed by the President to a one year term. He or she leads the selection and the presentation of the following awards: Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year, Outstanding Dietitian of the Year, Emerging Dietetic Leader, and other awards or scholarships as directed by Executive Board.
Student Members: Abigail Alvarado open
The Student Member(s) is elected by NAND members to a one year term. He or she acts as a liaison between the NAND board and the NAND’s student membership, helps recruit student members to NAND, and completes tasks as assigned by President-Elect and Awards/Scholarship Chair.
