Stephanie Michon had a Letter to the Editor published in the Tennessean in response to the new Krispy Kreme whole wheat doughnut. She used her letter as an opportunity to "plug" National Nutrition Month.
NDDA Board Member, Ede McCullough, is the acting dietitian for the not-for-profit organization The Band Against Multiple Sclerosis. This organization is committed to providing educational information for those living with Multiple Sclerosis, funding programs researching a cure for Multiple Sclerosis, and funding programs helping those living with the disease. Nationally acclaimed recording artist Clay Walker established the Foundation in February 2003 because he wanted to help others living with the same disease he has battled since 1996. Abbie Derrick and Lynn Henderson recently worked with Purity Dairies on the promotion of their Sweet Acidophilus milk. They each offered a quote on the benefits of probiotics and are featured in their Sweet Acidophilus brochure.
Abbie Derrick contributed to an article on debunking popular myths for New You magazine. The article will be featured in the June/July issue.
Lori Black participated in a radio interview about pre-diabetes and diabetes prevention on April 11th.
